PROMOTION REGULATIONS AND GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADES 7-12.

Grading Scale--

Bonus Points-- The following guidelines will be used to limit the giving of bonus points:

1. Bonus points for anything other than academics assignments are NOT allowed.

2. Earned bonus points will NOT be taken away from a student for any reason.

3. The grading system on the report card remain and the provisions for indicating a grade over 100 are NOT given.

Semester Test Exemptions--

Students meeting either of the requirements below WILL be exempt from a semester test in class that these standards are met.

1. Perfect attendance, with no instances of tardiness or early check out, and average of 80 or above.

2. An average of 90 or above.

PROMOTION AND RETENTION POLICY

Grade 7 and 8--

* language arts

* science

* mathematics

* social studies

Grades 9-12--

9th grade.............6 units

10th grade..........12 units

11th grade..........18 units

* A minimum of 24 units is required for graduation plus a passing score on each part of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AHSGE).

Mathematics (must include Algebra I and Geometry I)	4.0

must obtain all the following credits to be promoted to the next grade level.

To be considered for promotion to the next grad level, the student must pass all core curriculum subjects.

A................90-100

B................80-89

C................70-79

D................60-69

F................59 and below

ADVANCED WITH HONORS

In order to recieve the Advanced Diploma with Honors, the student must meet the requirements of the Advance Diploma as well as have and overall average of a 3.0 in all subjects. The student must also pass the AHSGE.
