Welcome to the Weaver Elementary School website. The faculty and staff work diligently to create a learning environment where the students feel welcome, wanted, and worthwhile. Four guiding principles serve as the basis for our work and facilitate the creation of a positive learning climate.

· First, we believe that education begins at home. Therefore, we strive to maintain frequent communication with parents concerning academic progress, behavior, and other relevant school issues.

· Second, we believe that the student must assume responsibility for learning. Ultimately, the effort to learn rests with the child. Teachers and parents are responsible for stimulating interest, motivating to the fullest extent possible, and providing an environment conducive to learning.

· Third, we believe that school is the place where children's needs are addressed, their uniqueness appreciated and respected, and their intellectual, social, and physical development nurtured.

· Last, but not least, we believe that we must draw additional support from the community to help meet the needs of our students. Community volunteerism and sponsorship must be encouraged to every extent possible.
