The 4-H club is open to all students. The objectives are to promote achievement, loyalty, service and better living among students. The club meets once a month for five months. At each monthly meeting, various projects are judged for ribbons. The first and second place winners can then participate in county contest for cash prizes.
Junior Beta Club - 7th-9th Grades Senior Beta Club 10th-12th Grades
The Junior and Senior Beta Clubs are honor organizations to which only the elite are invited to belong. Beta Club members not only excel academically, but are also individuals of outstanding character. The qualifications for induction are: A scholastic average no lover than a “B” for a minimum of 3 semesters with no conduct grade below “satisfactory” during that same period. These standards must be maintained to remain a member. The creed of the Beta Club is found in service to others, both in and out of school. Membership is truly an honor and a privilege.
The purpose of the Christian Club is to promote Christian ideals with the school environment. Throughout the year, club members participate in several projects which emphasize the Christian principles up on which the club was founded. The club is non-denominational and membership is open to all interested students.
Drama Club presents two plays each year for the student body as well as parents. The club is open to interested students.
FBLA: Future Business Leaders of America
FBLA is the oldest and largest national organization for students preparing for careers in business. Ohatchee's FBLA has a long tradition of winning competitions and traveling to interesting places. Membership is available to high school students who are currently enrolled in a business class or have taken a business class. Benefits of joining FBLA: Acquire leadership skills, Competition, Gain community service experience, Travel opportunities, Friendship, Fun, fun, and more fun! Members have the opportunity to compete for awards and recognition on the local, state, and national levels in more than 50 different event categories including Web site development, marketing, business plan, public speaking, job interview, desktop publishing, business law, parliamentary procedure, and many more! Become a leader in your school when you become an officer. Membership dues are $15.00
FCCLA: Future Homemakers of America
FCCLA is to provide opportunities for self development and preparation for family and community living and for employment: to strengthen the function of the family as a basic unit of society: to encourage democracy through cooperative action in the home and community: to encourage individual & group involvement in helping achieve world-wide brotherhood: to institute programs promoting greater understanding between youth and adults: to provide opportunities for decision making for men and women in today’s society. Membership is open to students in home economics classes.
FFA: Future Farmers of America
FFA is the youth organization for students enrolled in agribusiness education. Numerous leadership activities and contest are available at the local, county, district, state and national levels.
Membership is available to students with “B” average or better The officers and representatives should be responsive to the needs of the school and should work constructively toward improving the school.
The Pow Wow is Ohatchee High School’s newspaper. The first Pow Wow was published in 1950. The newspaper is published several times during the school year. The Pow Wow staff is created from students in Mrs. Almaroad’s technology application class. If you would like to be on the Pow Wow staff and are not in technology application see Mrs. Almaroad.
SGA: Student Government Association
SGA is the student elected governing body of the school. Representatives are elected by each homeroom grades 7-12. The Officers and representatives should be responsive to the needs of the school and should work constructively toward improving the school.
The Spanish Club is open to any student who is currently enrolled or previously enrolled in a Spanish class.
The purpose of the yearbook staff is to record in pictures and in works the history of the current school year. Members are selected by advisors.
