Position: Assistant Principal

Qualifications:
  • Must hold valid Alabama Certification in the field of Educational Administration and Supervision
  • Must have a strong educational background with a minimum of three years of teaching experience
  • Must have school leadership experience, preferably in an elementary school setting
  • Must have positive people skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to help supervise both large and small groups
  • Must be able to follow directives and help direct the focus of the total school program
  • Must provide evidence of professional development activities relating to current educational trends
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist the principal as they direct, supervise, and coordinate all programs
  • Provide strong leadership in the total school program
  • Implement a strong curriculum-based environment following the State Course of Study
  • Facilitate professional development of school staff members
Length of Contract/Terms:
Ten (10) months

As per Board salary schedule for this position

This position will be subject to the Students First Act of 2011. Calhoun County Schools reserves the right to fill this position by transfer of a qualified applicant who is already employed by the Calhoun County School System.

Under the Students First Act of 2011, no credit toward tenure or non-probationary status is earned in the initial school year of employment if the date of hire occurs after September 30.
