Qualifications:
  • Must hold valid Alabama Certification in the field of Educational Administration & Supervision
  • Must have a strong educational background which includes successful experience as a classroom teacher (5 years minimum)
  • Must have positive leadership skills, good organization skills, and the ability to supervise others
  • Must demonstrate a commitment, loyalty, dedication, and a focus towards improving the education of students in Calhoun County
  • Must have previous successful Elementary/Middle or High School Administrator experience as principal or assistant principal
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in design and delivery of professional development training activities for principals, teachers, and support staff promoting innovative teaching approaches and techniques
  • Assist evaluation and selection of textbooks, instructional materials, and equipment
  • Provide support and guidance to in-service instructors and coordinators
  • Federal & State monitoring K-12
  • Assessments
  • System Test Coordinator
  • System Attendance Supervisor
  • Placement Testing
  • Dropout Reports
  • Oversee School Counselors
  • Serve as System Discipline Administrator
  • Other duties as assigned by Superintendent
Length of Contract/Terms:
240 days/ 7.5 hrs per day

As per Board salary schedule for this position

This position will be subject to the Students First Act of 2011. Calhoun County Schools reserves the right to fill this position by transfer of a qualified applicant who is already employed by the Calhoun County School System.

Under the Students First Act of 2011, no credit toward tenure or non-probationary status is earned in the initial school year of employment if the date of hire occurs after September 30.
