Position: EL Teacher

Qualifications:
  • Valid Alabama Teaching Certificate in English for speakers of other languages
  • Knowledge of successful teaching methods
  • Knowledge of standardized assessment
  • Proficiency in technology
  • Record of sound moral character
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance to EL students in reaching English proficiency
  • Provide assistance to identified EL students in general education classes
  • Provide assistance to general education teachers of EL students
  • Provide a positive learning climate for students
  • Maintain records as required by federal, state, system and local policies
  • Integrate technology into the curriculum
  • Facilitate communication with school staff and parents
  • Conduct required assessments for EL students
  • Develop and implement EL student plans
  • Other duties as assigned
Length of Contract/Terms:
187 days / 9 months


Compensation:
As per Board salary schedule for this position

This position will be subject to the Students First Act of 2011. Calhoun County Schools reserves the right to fill this position by transfer of a qualified applicant who is already employed by the Calhoun County School System.
